TRADITIONAL LEADERS WORKING TOGETHER WITH THE MUNICIPALITY.

The newly elected Mayor of Thulamela Municipality Councillor Avhashoni Tshifhango appealed to traditional leaders to work with Government for the benefit of the people.

He was speaking during Mayor Mahosi forum which was held at Thulamela Municipal Council chamber.

More than hundred Traditional leaders attended the first Mayor Mahosi forum after Councillor Tshifhango was elected as a new Mayor of Thulamela Municipality.

The role of traditional leaders is to assist the Municipality to identify people's needs and therefore it is important that they kept informed with what is happening in the Municipality.

During a Forum Mayor Tshifhango said that the aim of the forum is maintaining working relationship with traditional leaders and the Municipality.

"Our traditional leaders must work with us as Government so that we might speed up service delivery to the people that we are serving, "said Tshifhango.

He further said that the forum is affording everybody an opportunity not only to know what the Municipality is doing, but also to participate in its development.

He appealed to all traditional leaders to ensure that land is used properly to ensure that communities benefited from it.

On behalf Traditional leaders Mr. Muvhango Alfred Themeli said they appreciate that Government is involving them. " We have gain a lot through this forum because we are able to receive first-hand information of what is happening within our Municipality so that we communicate what we know better with community members, said Traditional Leader Mr. Themeli.
