THULAMELA MUNICIPALITY STAKEHOLDERS GATHERED FOR IDP REP FORUM.
Thulamela Municipality Mayor Councillor Avhashoni Tshifhango led the Integrated Development Planning Representative Forum (IDP) for 2016/2017 financial year as part of project implementation processes at Thohoyandou Indoor Sports Centre on Wednesday.
The event was attended by hundreds of people. It helps the Municipality to focus on most important needs of the communities. It also helps to develop realistic project proposal based on the availability of resources .Projects such as roads, electricity, housing and bridges.
The Mayor Avhashoni Tshifhango acknowledged the important of this kind of consultation. “It helps us to know what our people wants, we should consult and involve the community in discussions regarding projects and programmes, which directly affect them.
This kind of Consultations help Municipality to make more appropriate decisions based on the real needs of the people, said Cllr Tshifhango.
Thulamela Municipality IDP Manager Mr. Norman Madi said 2015 was a year of local Government Elections and our IDP will reflect a five-year plan from 2016 to 2021. “We encourage consultation between community members and the Municipality as it helps us to have only one IDP document for the 2016/2017 financial year.”
Through the active participation of all important stakeholders, decisions were made in a democratic and transparent manner to speed up service delivery to the people.
The event was attended by Councillors, Traditional leaders, Sector Departments, SANCO and Institutions of Higher Learning.
