Boabab
-denotes the tree ( with
special features) which is found in this area. Its special
characteristic is that it can survive for years even under unfavorable
climatic conditions.
Ngoma ( drum)
- denotes the instrument which
the inhabitants of this area used in the past in times of celebrations
and to summon people to public gatherings. Ngoma is a uniting instrument
which binds the past and the future.
Horns (Rhino and Elephant)
- denotes the two types of big
animals found in this area These two animals are the pride of this area
because they form an essential part of the Big Five (animals) of the
Limpopo province.

Antelopes
- denotes two animals drinking
water from the same river. This represents the political and economic
situation of Thulamela whereat the two main tribal groups ( Vhavenda and
Shangaans) share a common vision and utilize the resources of the same
area for their wellbeing and nation building.
Blue and white waves
- The shape of blue and white
waves represents the many rivers and streams that this area inherited
from creation.
Castle
- denotes the ancient capital
Thulamela (in the Kruger national Park) whose inhabitants were the
Vhavenda and Shangaans. It represents a symbol of protection. This is
where a lot of economic activities took place.
